Creating a demo Drupal site for my 360Flex Camp talk on using Drupal with Flex

I will be giving a talk entitled "Using Drupal with Flex" at the upcoming 360FlexCamp conference in New Jersey, on September 26-27, 2008. The purpose of this talk will be to introduce Flex developers to the wonders and awesomeness of Drupal - a free, open source Content Management System and web development framework.

For the talk, I am creating a demo Drupal site - DrupalFlex - built on Drupal 5.10. This site will include many basic Drupal features as a CMS: integration of blogging, RSS, forums, taxonomies, etc., which are al part of the core functionality built into Drupal, and which can be enabled without installing any additional Drupal modules.

The DrupalFlex demo will also incorporate additional, non-core Drupal modules that provide greatly increased functionality, in particular, to provide enhanced "Web 2.0" / "Rich Internet Application" functionality.

Finally - and most importantly - I will show how the Drupal CMS / framework can be used as a back-end / web app development framework on which feature-rich Flex / Flash applications can be developed, and served over the internet.

See my additional blog posts, and other web pages on this DrupalFlex site, for additional information as this site - and demo presentation - are developed.
